E3 Recap

EA

Electronic Arts or EA started off E3 with more footage of Madden 18.  They also revealed that the story mode in Madden 18 is going to be called Long Shot.  This continues to make me more excited that Madden 18 isn’t just going to be a roster update to Madden 17.

I was also presently surprised to hear about their new game called A Way Out.  They talked about how it is a co-op only prison break game that is designed for split screen gaming.  They also said that the two characters that you can play as each have their own personalities and goals.

Microsoft

Microsoft started off with the announcement that project Scorpio is going to be named Xbox One X and sold for $499 in November.  They showed Forza Motorsport 7 and several other Xbox One exclusive games.  They also showed some non exclusive games like Assassin’s Creed Origins.  I was also surprised to hear that they are adding backwards compatibility for the original Xbox.

Bethesda

Bethesda announced sequels to Wolfenstein, The Evil Within, and Dishonored.  They are also going to add virtual reality to Doom and Fallout 4.  I think it will be interesting to see if these sequels are as popular as the originals.

PC Gaming

During the PC Gaming show they announced updates for Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds that include weather and vaulting.  They also announced a 4k version of Age of Empires.  I have enjoyed playing Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings so this could be a good idea.

Ubisoft

Ubisoft announced a partnership with Nintendo to make a game called Mario plus Rabbids.  They even had Shigeru Miyamoto from Nintendo show up for the announcement.  They also announced that The Crew 2 will be released early next year.  They also showed off Transference, Skull & Bones, Starlink, Far Cry 5, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Assassin’s Creed Origins.

I think I am looking forward to Assassin’s Creed Origins the most, only because I have enjoyed the previous Assassin’s Creed Games so much.

Sony

Sony announced a new Spider-Man game starring Peter Parker.  The combat has been compared to that of the Batman Arkham games.  They also showed more of the next Uncharted game.  A few other games that they talked about where: Days Gone, Monster Hunter, Shadow of the Colossus PS4 remake, Call of Duty: World War II, new God of War, and Detroit.

Nintendo

Nintendo announced that a new Kirby game for the Switch is coming out next year.  They also announced more games like: Metroid Prime 4, a new Pokemon game, Yoshi game, Breath of the Wild DLC, and Super Mario Odyssey.  I think that the Super Mario Odyssey game looks the most interesting, since they showed Mario being able to control other characters along his adventure.
