I have recently started exercising more regularly and it has made me wonder about the different types of exercise and their benefits.  There are two main types of exercise that are called aerobic and resistance.

Aerobic Exercise

Examples of aerobic exercise are: walking, running, biking, and swimming.  It has many benefits that include: burning calories and fat, better functioning brain and stress relief   It is recommended to do aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes four times a week.

Resistance Exercise

Examples of resistance exercise are: strength training, balance training, and weightlifting.  It has many benefits that include protection from osteoporosis and burning fat.  It is recommended to do resistance exercise two to three times a week.
